Covid Assurance Policy

When it comes to Covid things are unpredictable which makes commitment tough. We get it. So our Covid assurance policy has been designed to put into plain english our plans for what will happen if we go into a lockdown.

We preface this with the disclaimer that Something Digital is run by a very small team. We are not a large government backed institution, we are a team of 6 doing our best to make magic happen in a very tough environment.

This policy is one that is designed to be fair and considered. If something is unclear or you have concerns, drop our co-founder Lisa a line on and she will be happy to answer all of your questions.

The lockdown scenario...

  • In the event of a government lockdown, every attempt will be made to reschedule to the soonest possible date.
  • If this happens, your ticket will automatically be transferred to the new date.
  • If you are unable to make the new date you:
    • Will be given a 72 hour window to request a refund; or
    • You can send a substitute in your place; or
    • You can transfer your ticket to the 2022 October event
  • If the event is cancelled entirely, you will be refunded.

The I'm sick / quarantine scenario...

If you are unable to attend the event due to sickness or are required to be in isolation, you may:

1) Send a substitute in your place
2) Choose to participate online (this is the great thing about hybrid events!)
3) Transfer your ticket to 2022

This scenario may be a little stickier and we thank you for your understanding.

Staying Covid-Safe

Life is slowly returning to normal, but we all need to play our part in keeping Brisbane Covid-Safe.
  • We ask that you stay at home if you are unwell, have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, or have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 case.
  • At the venue there will be plenty of space. We ask you not to crowd up unnecessarily. It's up to all of us to help keep a sensible distance between one another.
  • It goes without saying that you should always do what feels right for you. Feel better wearing a mask, do that. Want to maintain a bit of extra distance whilst chatting, that's okay too. We are all in this together and encourage you to embrace the awkward.

Our Covid-Plan

The team behind Something Digital (Bright Humans) have been back to running in-person events since August 2020. From smaller workshops through to last year's 4 day festival and numerous large conferences since. We have gained in depth understanding on what it takes to run a Covid-safe event.

We already have our rough plans ready to go, but in a Covid world restrictions both ease and tighten with just a moments notice, so the team will be paying close attention to the announcement of any changes in requirements. If any changes are announced we will review how this may impact Something Digital.

Some of our key Covid-safe strategies are included below. Have a specific question or two? Drop us a line on

Covid-Safe Plan.

We love a plan! Our Covid-Safe Plan follows the necessary government requirements, and will continue to be updated as required.

Contact Tracing.

We will be using the QLD app and checking attendees in each time they enter a venue. It's us doing our bit to keep tabs of everyone's movements.

Social Distancing.

We've all learned that distancing is important. Current restrictions require us to have 1 person per 2 square meters which we will ensure happens at all venues.

Extra Hygiene.

We're stocking up on hand sanitiser and cleaning supplies, to keep you safe (and clean!)

Stop. Drop. Sanitise.
